All Guilds Meeting - December 2014

Portrait de Doobes

It was the last All Guilds Meeting of 2014 and it was quick and painless.  For those that missed the meeting, the usual raw and cleansed chatlogs await you.

Here's a summary of what happened:

Tom(Samoth) was up first with a bit of news about a very Myst-like game in the works called Ethereon.  The creator of the game, Tony Davidson, is no Stranger to these types of games, as he was a CG Development Artist on Riven.  The Kickstarter still needs donations, so be sure to check it out and donate if you can!

Guild of Ants

GoAnt Ventris was next to announce that GoAnt is planning a holiday party in the near future!  Details are still forthcoming as of this writing, but you can vote for the kind of music to be played at the party at this forum thread.  Stay tuned for further developments, including a date and time.

Orientation Tours

The GoMe has been in contact with Cyan about reviving the ResEng Orientation and Informational Tours for newer explorers that were popular during the Gametap Myst Online: URU Live days.  Doobes explained more about it at the meeting, mentioning that Cyan's approval is desired because they supplied the Guild with the original ResEng tour information.  Since it's being modified for Guild use, Cyan needs to go over the details before it can be official.  In the end, these tours will be a Guild of Messengers/Cavern Criers-sponsored tour approved by Cyan.

If all goes well, these tours will be about once a month at the best time to accomodate beginner explorers in many time zones.  Veteran explorers will be able to volunteer to host any future tours if they would like and the Guild will supply them with all the material they will need.  Like all GoMe projects, one does not have to be a Messenger to participate.

The tours will also be heavily promoted beforehand so people will know in advance when they will happen.  We will have more on this after further collaboration with Cyan.  In the meantime, you can read more about the tours and participate in the discussion at this forum thread.

The meter has not been updated since November 17th, but thanks to generous explorers, after starting the month at a dismal 1.2, the meter jumped to 4.5 in about two weeks!  A big thank you to all that donated.  Be sure to keep donating when you can to keep the cavern open!

And that's all for now.  See you in 2015!
